Kenmore Parts

The Kenmore or Sears Kenmore brand name is misleading as Kenmore doesn't manufacture anything. Instead other manufacturers are contracted to build standard machines and apply the Sears / Kenmore branding. The easiest way to know who the manufacturer was of a Kenmore branded appliance is to look at the parts breakdown. If the part numbers are all numeric and 9 or more digits in length, they are most likely Frigidaire / Electrolux manufactured parts and therefore is a Frigidaire or Electrolux manufactured appliance. If the part numbers start with WB or WD or WE or WR, and there is an "X" in the middle, those parts are GE parts. Whirlpool is a little more tricky. Currently, Whirlpool branded machines use the "WP" or "WPW" designation at the beginning of the part number or simply "W" followed by an 8 digit number. Older Whirlpool parts are 7 digits in length or less and may have the "WP" in front. Samsung part numbers almost always start with a "DA", "DB", "DC", "DD" or "DE". LG part numbers often start with a 4 digit number followed by two letters and four more numbers and ending with a letter or two. Sometimes LG part numbers are 3 letters followed by an 8 digit number.
This breakdown of part numbering is NOT complete and companies may change numbering sequencing or methodology.
